Nurturing emotional wellbeing, building resilience - helping every child flourish to become the best version of themselves and living our TRACK values of TRUST - RESPONSIBILITY - AMBITION - COMMUNITY - KINDNESS

As an accredited THRIVE school, we place children’s emotional development at the heart of everything we do. THRIVE is an evidence‑based approach that helps us understand how children learn to regulate, relate and grow — and what they need at each stage to feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

For our students with SEND, SEMH needs, or gaps in early development, THRIVE provides a structured, nurturing framework that enables us to respond with precision, compassion and consistency for the individual student.

What THRIVE means for our students:

  • A safe, predictable environment where relationships come first
  • Personalised action plans that identify each child’s emotional needs and the strategies that help them thrive
  • Targeted, relational interventions delivered by trained practitioners
  • Daily opportunities for co‑regulation, connection and success
  • A whole‑school culture that celebrates strengths, builds resilience and supports positive mental health
  • What THRIVE means for our families
  • Clear, supportive communication about your child’s progress
  • Practical strategies you can use at home
  • A shared language for understanding behaviour as communication
  • A trusted partnership focused on your child’s wellbeing and long‑term success
  • What THRIVE means for our school
  • A consistent, trauma‑informed approach used by every adult
  • Staff trained to recognise emotional needs and respond with attuned, relational practice
  • A curriculum enriched with opportunities for emotional literacy, self‑regulation and social development
  • A range of student leadership opportunities which reflect our TRACK values
  • A culture where every child is seen, valued and understood

At OTW, Thrive is woven into our ethos, our curriculum and our daily practice. It helps us ensure that every child, whatever their starting point, has the relationships, skills and confidence they need to grow, learn and become the best version of themselves.
