Health and Wellbeing Fair Supports Children’s Mental Health Week

16 Feb

On Friday 13th February, On Track Education Wisbech hosted a Health and Wellbeing Fair to mark Children’s Mental Health Week, bringing together students, parents, carers and a range of local services to highlight the importance of physical, emotional and mental well-being for young people.

The event welcomed representatives from Everyone Health, Dhiverse, North Brink Surgery, the NHS, and CASUS. These organisations delivered informative and engaging sessions on important topics, including drug awareness, sexual health and the risks associated with vaping.

Their expertise provided students and families with accurate information, practical advice and the opportunity to ask questions in a safe and supportive environment.

Alongside the educational sessions, the fair also offered a range of creative and well-being-focused activities. Students enjoyed arts and crafts sessions that encouraged creativity and self-expression, while a yoga workshop introduced simple techniques to support relaxation and stress management. The baking room proved particularly popular, giving students a hands-on activity that encouraged teamwork, confidence and enjoyment.

The event helped open up important conversations around health and well-being and highlighted the wide range of support services available within the local community.

Natasha Moore, Senior Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead at On Track Wisbech, said: "We aimed to create an open and supportive space where students and families could learn more about the importance of both physical and mental health. By bringing together local services, parents and students, we were able to raise awareness of the support available and encourage young people to think about how they can look after their well-being. It was fantastic to see students engaging so positively with the sessions and activities throughout the day."

The fair was a valuable opportunity for the school community to come together and focus on well-being, reinforcing the importance of supporting young people’s mental and physical health both in school and beyond.
