Students enjoy hands-on learning with The Animal Club

13 Mar

Students at On Track Education recently enjoyed an exciting and memorable visit from The Animal Club, giving them the chance to meet and interact with a range of fascinating creatures.

During the session, pupils were introduced to several animals, including crabs, rats and geckos. The experience provided a unique opportunity for students to learn about different species while also developing important personal and social skills.

Throughout the afternoon, students showed great enthusiasm and curiosity as they listened carefully, asked questions and took part in the activities. Many pupils also had the chance to hold the animals, helping them build confidence and overcome any initial nerves in a safe and supportive environment.

Experiences like this play an important role in supporting pupils’ development, encouraging respect for animals and the natural world while helping students strengthen their communication and listening skills.

Claire Simper, SMSC Lead, said: "We had an incredible afternoon with The Animal Club! The students were thrilled to meet a variety of creatures, including crabs, rats and geckos. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to build confidence, practise listening skills and interact with one another, all while having a fantastic time holding real live animals."

The visit was a huge success, leaving students with plenty of smiles, new knowledge and a memorable hands-on learning experience.
