On Track Barnstaple shines bright for Hello Yellow Day

13 Oct

Students and staff at On Track Education Barnstaple took part in Hello Yellow Day in support of YoungMinds, joining thousands of schools and organisations across the country to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing among young people.

The day was filled with positivity, creativity and teamwork, with activities designed to help students explore the importance of talking about mental health and supporting one another. Staff and pupils alike embraced the yellow theme, filling classrooms and corridors with colour.

Fittingly, this year’s event fell on the 10th day of the 10th month, providing the perfect opportunity to celebrate 10 years since On Track Barnstaple first opened its doors in September 2015. Over the past decade, the school has grown from a small community centre into a thriving, multi-site school offering education and support for up to 60 pupils aged 7–19.

Headteacher Maria Roberts said:

“Hello Yellow Day is always a special date in our calendar, but this year it felt even more meaningful as we marked ten years of On Track Barnstaple. It was a wonderful reminder of how far our students and staff have come together. The energy, empathy and sense of community we saw throughout the day truly reflect what our school stands for - a place where everyone is supported to feel valued, confident and capable of achieving great things.”
