Students at On Track Northampton have completed an inspiring charity challenge, raising over £500 for the McCarthy Dixon Foundation.
As part of their BTEC Business qualification, students organised and delivered a 7.5-mile sponsored walk, demonstrating impressive initiative, teamwork and dedication throughout the process. From initial planning through to the final event, pupils took full responsibility for key elements of the project, including health and safety preparation, writing letters, coordinating fundraising, and even completing a practice walk to ensure they were ready for the challenge.
On the day, students showed remarkable resilience and determination, pushing themselves every step of the way to complete the walk and achieve their goal. Their hard work was rewarded not only by the funds raised but also by the pride and sense of achievement shared across the school community.
The event concluded with a well-deserved celebration, complete with a birthday treat and cake at the finish line, marking a fantastic end to an incredible achievement.
Holly Roberts, Careers Lead at On Track Education Northampton, said:
"We are incredibly proud of our students and everything they have achieved through this project. From planning to delivery, they demonstrated outstanding teamwork, resilience and real-world business skills. It’s been amazing to see their confidence grow while raising money for such an important cause."
This challenge highlights the value of practical, real-world learning experiences, helping students develop key skills while making a positive impact in their community.
