This year marks a major milestone for On Track Education Barnstaple as the school proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary since opening its doors in September 2015.
Starting as a small community centre, the school has grown significantly over the past decade and now operates across three sites, Narita House, Saunders House and Barnstaple School. On Track Barnstaple is currently a 60-place independent special school for pupils aged 7–19, offering a highly personalised education to meet the wide-ranging needs of its learners.
Adding to the celebrations, the school received yet another ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in July 2025, with inspectors commending its ambitious curriculum and the way it is carefully adapted to meet each pupil’s individual needs. The report also praised the strong and respectful relationships between staff and pupils.
Headteacher Maria Roberts said:
“We are incredibly proud to be celebrating 10 years of On Track Barnstaple. What started in a small community centre has grown into a thriving school across three sites, but our core mission remains the same – to support, inspire and encourage every young person who comes through our doors.
“Our recent Ofsted report is a fantastic recognition of the dedication of our staff and the achievements of our pupils. I couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come, and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
