Pupils at On Track Wisbech recently enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to the Cambridge Science Centre in Wisbech, where they took part in a day of hands-on learning and discovery.
The visit began with an engaging presentation on space travel, taking students on a journey from launch through to life in orbit and the return to Earth. The session brought science to life, capturing students’ imaginations and sparking curiosity about the world beyond our planet. A particular highlight of the day was the series of live demonstrations, including a crowd-favourite DIY hoverboard.
Following the presentation, students explored the centre’s interactive exhibits, investigating topics such as moon phases, meteorites and the engineering behind bridge design. The hands-on nature of the experience allowed students to actively engage with scientific concepts in a fun and memorable way.
Ewan McConnachie, Science Tutor at On Track Wisbech, said: “It was a fantastic day of hands-on learning. The students were especially captivated by the live demonstrations, and it was great to see them so engaged as they explored the interactive exhibits.”
The trip played an important role in helping to build confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.
