The finance office, based at the i-Lab on the Priory Business Park in Bedford, is looking to recruit a full-time finance assistant, specifically responsible for accounts payable, 40 hours per week.   This role is part of a small team and is a good fit for someone who is studying or has studied AAT.  

 
THE PERSON


·        AAT Level 3 

·        Minimum 1 years’ experience working in finance

·        Experience of i-plicit accounting software desirable, training will be given

·        Confident user of Microsoft Excel intermediate level

·        Self-motivated professional with ability to work alone

·        Strong administrative, IT and organisational skills with good attention to detail

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Flexible approach to working as a part of a small team

 
THE JOB


·        Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the efficient operation of accounts payable

·        Code supplier invoices and input data onto accountancy software

·        Communicate with suppliers regarding any invoice or payment discrepancies

·        Seek approval and authorisation of invoices by relevant person prior to payment

·        Support schools with their finances and assist in the resolution of any finance related queries

·        Ensure invoices are processed promptly and accurately to guarantee approval in time for batch payment.

·        Coordinate and process weekly batch payments

·        Assist with the rate valuation of company properties

·        Reconciliation of supplier accounts and monthly bank statements

·        Assist with year-end procedures

SALARY


Salary:  £28,060 - £30,370 dependent on qualifications and experience.

The finance office, based at the i-Lab on the Priory Business Park in Bedford, is looking to recruit a part-time finance administrator, to support the team.  This role is office based, 20-25 hours per week, working 5 days, Monday to Friday.   This is a new role, part of a small team, and we are happy to discuss hours of work at interview.   

 

The finance administrator will maintain financial records and make sure all administrative tasks run smoothly.   The ideal applicant will be highly organised and have a background in accounts and administration and be able to multitask well. 

 
THE PERSON


Experience of i-plicit accounting software desirable, training will be given
Confident user of Microsoft Excel 
Self-motivated with ability to work alone
Strong administrative, IT and organisational skills with good attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Flexible approach to working as a part of a small team and changing priorities
 

THE JOB


Oversee the accounts mailbox, manage and respond accordingly
Review and verify invoices in accordance with company policy and liaise with suppliers regarding any issues
Process supplier invoices and input data into accountancy software
Match invoices to monthly statements and purchase orders
Assist with the resolution of finance related queries 
Administration of school credit cards, checking receipts and balances, reconciling any discrepancies or errors by liaising with school personnel as appropriate
Reconciling monthly credit card statements
Keeping company records and databases up-to-date
Assisting with booking school trips
Creating training purchase orders
General administration tasks, dealing with telephone enquiries, post, scanning documents and filing
